Learn to sing a song the Barbershop way

Ok. We’re back from the darkside of COVID with live rehearsals and we are inviting NEW SINGERS to come and have a go at learning a song with us.

We’ll be. doing George Ezra’s ‘Shotgun’ arranged for voices by our very own musical director Jack Bridges. Don’t be afraid if you can’t read music as all the notes can be learned by ear at the rehearsals and from our MP3 coaching tracks.

We’ll be starting weekly for 4 weeks from 13th September, 7pm to 9pm at the New Clarence, 77-79 Charles Street, Hull, HU2 8DE. Hope to see you there.

Back in Business

With lockdown slowly easing we’ve been getting together is a garden somewhere in Anlaby and singing some old songs which we used to sing, some new ones which we have learned over lockdown and having a beer before scuttling back home.

Getting ready now for a couple of singing engagements in July and August.

If you’d like to be part of this PLEASE get in touch. See the main page for details.

You can Zoom it

The absence of physical rehearsals has been frustrating over the last few months, but we’ve succeeded in keeping things moving by using Zoom.

A Zoom rehearsal

Of course, we can’t all sing together at the same time because of system ‘latency’ (that’s the delay between the sound going in to the mic and it appearing out of the speaker on someone else’s machine.)

Nevertheless, we have all had an individual sing, coached by our director and others in the group. So it’s been nice to keep things going, and we’ve even learnt some new songs. Looking forward to getting back to normal and seeing if they work when sung together.
